How much can I withdraw from an ATM? What is my daily limit?

You can withdraw up to $500.00 per day on your ATM card. The daily limit for Visa debit card purchases is $1,500.00. Second Chance account limits are $300.00 per day on your ATM card and the daily limit for Visa debit card purchases is $750.00.

The Credit Union Difference

What is a credit union?

Credit unions are non-profit financial cooperatives owned by members who come together to save and /or borrow. Credit unions are not for profit, not for charity, but for service. So, what happens to the earnings of the credit union? After expenses are paid and reserves set aside, the earnings are divided among members in the form of dividends, lower rates on loans, or other services offered at reduced cost. Remember, to your credit union, you are an owner and valued member.

How can I join the credit union?

You can open an account online, through the mail, or by visiting one of our branches during business hours. You can also fax an account card to the Credit Union, providing we get the original in the mail at a later date.


Who can be a member?

Allegiance Credit Union's membership is open to anyone who resides, works, worships or attends school in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Statistical Area. This area consists of the following six counties: Logan, Canadian, Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain and Pottawatomie. Additionally, membership is offered to any active employee of the federal government whose post of duty is in Oklahoma, including members of the Oklahoma National Guard, retirees, and widows or widowers who have not remarried. Faculty and staff of SWOSU are also eligible for membership.

Branching from a member can then extend to the spouse, parents of the spouse, the member's parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and the member's brothers and sisters. By signing a membership card and opening a share savings account with a $5.00 minimum deposit, you become a member and part owner of Allegiance Credit Union. You may remain a member for life, even if you change jobs, relocate or retire.

Is my family eligible for membership?

Yes. You, as a primary member, make your family eligible if they are:

  • The spouse of the primary member
  • Children of either primary member or spouse, including adopted and step children
  • Dependent relatives living in the same household
  • Parents of primary member or spouse
  • Brothers and sisters of primary member or spouse
  • Grandchildren of primary member or spouse
  • Spouses of children of primary member or spouse

How do I change my address?

Change your address online by logging onto Allegiance Online, select "Preferences" and then click "contact information". You can also mail us a hand written address change request, with your signature and account number, or use the Change of Address Form provided. Mail written requests to P.O. Box 57020, Oklahoma City, OK 73157-7020. Our fax number is (405) 491-6121.

How do I change my name on my account?

You must provide proof of name change, marriage license, divorce decree, or a current driver's license with your new name, and sign a new account card with your new signature. You can contact the new accounts representative for a new signature card or with any questions.

Checking & Savings

When will the credit union pay dividends (interest)?

Dividends will be paid at the end of the month on checking accounts, and quarterly on savings accounts.

How can I order checks?

You can order checks online through our website if you click "Order Checks" under Tools. Or you can order online right now.

You can also mail or fax your reorder form to the credit union at: P.O. Box 57020, Oklahoma City, OK 73157-7020, fax (405) 789-1085. You can also drop off your reorder form at one of our branch locations, or contact the call center during our business hours.

How can I transfer funds between accounts?

You can transfer funds between suffixes (such as from a members' checking account to a savings account) through Allegiance Online, our online banking service, through our free mobile apps, over the counter at one of our branches, or service centers, and by calling our call center during business hours. You can transfer between different accounts (such as from your account to a separate account for a child) at the credit union, using the same services, provided that your name is on both accounts or a letter stating that you can transfer to or from another account is on file with the credit union. The credit union must set the accounts up as cross-accounts before you can transfer between two different account numbers.

How can I add someone else to my account?

To add a joint owner to your account, the new joint owner needs to fill out the joint owner information on an account card. All current owners need to sign on the same account card. Joint owners are subject to approval by the credit union.

How can I remove a joint owner from my account?

A joint owner has equal rights and ownership of the account that he/she is on, and can only be removed by his/her own signature. Only the signature of the person to be removed is required. Other owners don't need to sign.

What is an agent on an account?

An agent has full access to the account. Agents can make deposits, withdrawals, and receive information on the account. They cannot close the account and they can be removed from the account at any time without their signature.

What kind of overdraft protection does the credit union offer?

The credit union offers several different ways to protect your account against overdrafts. We can set up your checking to automatically transfer from your savings or money market accounts, even if they are under another account number in your name. You can use this service up to 6 times a month at no charge. You can also take advantage of Overdraft Privilege.

How can I stop payment on a check or automatic debit?

If the check or debit has not cleared, you can sign a stop payment form. There is a $25 fee. Please call our Call Center at (405) 789-7900 press 0 and a representative would be glad to help you. If you have Allegiance Online (home banking), you can place a stop payment on a check. After logging into Allegiance Online, please click "Account Services" then click "Stop Payment."

How do I set up an automatic debit?

If the automatic debit comes from another financial institution or company then you must set up the debit with that institution or company. If the debit is on the credit union, you can inform us by mail or fax, P.O. Box 57020, Oklahoma City, OK 73157-7020, fax (405) 491-6121. You can call us during business hours, visit one of our branches, or email us at [email protected].*

What do I need to do for a deceased account holder?

The Credit Union must have a copy of the original death certificate for our files. If it is a copy, we must be able to see the certified seal or have it notarized. Once we have the death certificate, we will be able to process the account. If the joint owner is a spouse, we can transfer the account to the spouse. Depending on the account, and if there is any insurance, IRA claims, or holds to be made, it can be lengthy process. If there are any active loans or Visa cards on the account, the other account holder may have to re-apply to get it moved to their name.

How can I cancel a CD?

You can contact the Credit Union in writing, call or email the new accounts department at [email protected], during business hours. There is no penalty to cancel or change the CD if you do it on the date of maturity or 10 days after the date of maturity.

Is there a penalty for canceling a CD early?

Yes, the penalty for a 6- or 12-month CD is 90 days' dividends, and the penalty for a CD 18-months or over is 180 days' dividends.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

What kinds of IRAs does the Credit Union offer, and what is the difference between them?

The Credit Union offers traditional, Roth, and education IRAs. A traditional IRA can be opened by anyone under age 70½ who has income from compensation, or who is filing jointly with a spouse who earns compensation. Contributions may be tax-deductible but first consult your tax advisor, and earnings are tax-deferred until withdrawn. There are no penalties on withdrawals made after age 59½, or for a qualifying reason.

A Roth IRA can be opened by anyone who has income from compensation, or who is filing jointly with a spouse who earns compensation. The contributions are not deductible, and the earnings are not tax-deferred. Withdrawals can be made penalty free as long as the account has been open for 5 years, and for a qualifying reason.

An education IRA can be opened for the benefit of anyone under the age of 18, and contribution income does not have to come from compensation. You can contribute up to $2000.00 a year on each child's behalf. Withdrawals are tax-free for qualifying higher-education expenses. Funds in an education IRA can be transferred from one child's account into another child's account in the family.

Can I have both a traditional and a Roth IRA?

Yes, you can maintain both types of IRAs at the same time. You can even make contributions to both types of IRAs in the same year. But your contributions to both Roth and traditional IRAs cannot exceed the maximum contribution.

Am I eligible to contribute to a Roth IRA?

You are eligible if you earn compensation and your income is less than limits set by Congress.

How does a Roth IRA work?

Unlike traditional IRAs, contributions to a Roth IRA are never tax-deductible. However, the money in your Roth IRA, including earnings, can be withdrawn tax-free. Of course, you must conform to the plan provisions to get this tax-free advantage.

How much can I contribute to a Roth IRA?

If you meet the eligibility tests described above and you are under age 50, you can contribute up to $5,500 for 2017-2018. For owners age 50 and older, your limits increase to $6,500 for 2017-2018.

Can I still contribute to a Roth IRA if I participate in an employer-sponsored retirement plan?

Yes, and you can contribute past age 70½ as long as you continue to earn compensation.

Will my Roth IRA affect the amount that I can contribute to my employer-sponsored retirement plan?

No. The amount you contribute to your 401(k) or other employer-sponsored plans will not be affected by your Roth IRA. However, you must conform to the plan contribution limits for your employer-sponsored plan.

When can I start taking tax-free distributions from my Roth IRA?

You can withdraw most contributions without paying income tax at any time. Distributions are treated as first being attributable to your contributions until all of your contributions have been distributed.

There are two requirements to qualify for tax-free withdrawals of the income your Roth IRA has earned. First, your Roth IRA must meet the "five-year test." In other words, it must be five years after the first year for which Roth contributions were made. Second, one of the following conditions must apply:

(a) You are over age 59½

(b) Funds are going to your beneficiary upon your death

(c) You have become disabled

(d) You are using the funds for a first-time home purchase (lifetime limit is $10,000 per person).

Do I have to take minimum distributions when I reach age 70½?

No. The Roth IRA is more flexible than a traditional IRA because you are not required to start taking minimum distributions when you reach age 70½. If you don't need the cash, you can let your money continue to grow tax-free for as long as you like. However, minimum distributions must be made to your beneficiaries following your death.

What is a traditional IRA?

A traditional IRA is a type of retirement plan that has been in existence since 1975. Traditional IRAs offer tax-deferred earnings and the possibility for tax-deductible contributions. These tax advantages make the traditional IRA a powerful tool in creating a balanced, long-term savings plan.

How does a traditional IRA work?

You can contribute to a traditional IRA if you earn compensation and you will not reach age 70½ by the end of the year. If you file a joint tax return, you can treat your spouse's compensation as your own (except your combined contributions cannot exceed your combined compensation or contribution limit, whichever is less). All earnings in a traditional IRA are not taxed until they are withdrawn. The ability to defer taxes on the earnings, and to withdraw in a year when you may be in a lower tax bracket, can mean more after-tax dollars for your retirement.

How much can I contribute to a traditional IRA?

If you meet the eligibility tests described above and you are under age 50, you can contribute up to $5,500 for 2017-2018. The annual contribution limit is $5,500. For owners age 50 and older, your limits increase to $6,500 for 2017-2018.

Can I still contribute to a traditional IRA if I participate in an employer-sponsored retirement plan?

Yes, your participation in an employer-sponsored retirement plan will not affect your ability to contribute to a traditional IRA (assuming age and compensation requirements are met). However, higher-income earners will lose their ability to deduct their traditional IRA contributions if participating in an employer-sponsored plan.

If I already have a Roth IRA, can I have a traditional IRA, too?

Yes, you can. However, the limits on annual contributions described on the previous page apply to any combination of traditional and Roth IRA contributions that you make for the year.

What about income taxes when I withdraw from my traditional IRA?

You will owe income taxes when you withdraw from your traditional IRA. However, if you make nondeductible contributions to a traditional IRA, a portion of each withdrawal will be treated as the nontaxable return of these contributions.

If I make an early withdrawal from my traditional IRA before age 59½, do I pay a penalty?

In general, you must pay a ten percent tax on early distributions or withdrawals before age 59½. But the early distribution tax does not apply in the following situations. Certain exceptions do apply, seek skilled tax advice:

a) Amount is rolled over or directly transferred to another traditional IRA

b) Amount is properly converted to a Roth IRA

c) Withdrawal of an excess contribution before the tax return is due

d) Withdrawal of an excess contribution after the filing deadline if certain conditions are met

e) Payment is made to your beneficiaries after your death

f) Withdrawal of up to $10,000 is for first-time home purchase

g) Amount is used to pay for qualified post-secondary education expenses

h) Amount is used to pay for medical expenses in excess of 7.5% of adjusted gross income (AGI)

i) Amount is for pre-59½ periodic payments

j) Distribution is to an owner who is disabled (as defined by the IRS code)

k) Distribution is for medical insurance premiums during unemployment that lasts 12 weeks or longer

When must I begin taking distributions from my traditional IRA?

You must begin taking required minimum distributions from your traditional IRA at age 70½. The minimum distributions each year will be computed using an IRS formula. You are allowed to delay the first year's payment until April 1st of the following year, but you will receive two years' worth of payments in your 71½ year if you choose to delay.

Can I move funds from a qualified retirement plan to a traditional IRA?

If you are entitled to receive an eligible rollover distribution from an employer's plan, you can continue deferring taxes by moving the money into a traditional IRA. The best way to do this is to inform the plan administrator that you want the funds moved directly to your traditional IRA in a direct rollover. The plan administrator will inform you before making an eligible rollover distribution.

Can I move money from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA?

You can move money from your traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. In the year you convert, you will have to pay federal income taxes on the amount that you move, except the portion that is treated as the return of your traditional IRA basis. You may also be subject to state income taxes. Always seek skilled tax advise.

What happens to my traditional IRA after my death?

You may designate one or more beneficiaries to receive your IRA after your death. If your spouse is your beneficiary, he or she may directly transfer your traditional IRA to his or her own IRA tax-free. In addition, all beneficiaries have the option of taking a lump-sum payment or periodic payments over a number of years. Any tax-deferred money in your traditional IRA at the time of death will be taxed when it is distributed to your beneficiaries.

Coverdell ESAs

What is a Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA)?

The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 created the Education IRA, now known as the Coverdell ESA. Its sole purpose is to help you pay for your child's education expenses, such as tuition, fees, books, supplies, equipment, and in some cases, room and board and computers. These options were improved by the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001.

What is the deadline for making a Coverdell ESA contribution?

The deadline for making a Coverdell ESA contribution is the tax return deadline for the year for which the contribution is being made (usually April 15th of the following calendar year) not including extensions.

How does a Coverdell ESA work?

Unlike traditional IRAs, contributions to a Coverdell ESA are never tax-deductible. However, a Coverdell ESA offers you the potential for tax-free withdrawals, including earnings.

What is the most I can contribute to a Coverdell ESA?

The total contributions each year to each child's Coverdell ESA cannot exceed $2,000. If you're eligible, you can contribute the full amount for each child. For example, if you have three children and each has his or her own Coverdell ESA, you can contribute $6,000 ($2,000 to each ESA).

Who is eligible to open and contribute the full amount to a Coverdell ESA?

You can contribute the full amount if you are:

  • Single filer with modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) up to $95,000
  • Joint filer with MAGI up to $190,000

What happens if my (our) income is too high to make the full contribution to a Coverdell ESA?

You can make contributions of less than the full amount if you are:

  • Single filer with MAGI between $95,000 and $110,000
  • Joint filer with MAGI between $190,000 and $220,000

If your income exceeds these amounts, you cannot make a regular Coverdell ESA contribution for that year.

How long can I contribute to the account?

You can make contributions to a child's Coverdell ESA until he or she reaches the age of 18. This age limit does not apply to special needs beneficiaries. This is a person who requires additional time to complete his or her education because of a physical, mental or emotional condition (including a learning disability).

As a parent, am I the only one who can open and contribute to a Coverdell ESA for my child?

No. Anybody who meets the income requirements can open and contribute to your child's Coverdell ESA. This includes grandparents, aunts and uncles, family friends and anyone else who wants to pitch in to your child's education fund. Corporations, tax-exempt organizations and other entities can also make Coverdell ESA contributions, and there are no income limits on these contributors. However, the total annual contributions to all Coverdell ESAs for each child can't exceed $2,000.

Who controls the account?

Every Coverdell ESA must have one, and only one, "responsible individual" to oversee the account. This person decides when funds will be withdrawn and if and when funds will be rolled over to the Coverdell ESA of a family member. You can be the "responsible individual" as long as you are a parent or legal guardian of the child. The child can serve as the responsible individual after becoming an adult

When can I withdraw funds from a Coverdell ESA?

As the responsible individual, you can withdraw funds at any time. However, to avoid tax consequences from the withdrawal, you must use the funds to pay for qualified education expenses for your child (the ESA's designated beneficiary) before he or she reaches age 30 (except that the age 30 limit does not apply to a special needs beneficiary).

What educational expenses are considered to be "qualified"?

Qualified expenses include tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for enrollment or attendance at nearly any post-secondary educational institution (public, nonprofit or proprietary). Certain room and board expenses also may qualify. Qualified expenses also include these same expenses for elementary and secondary education, and the purchase of computer technology or equipment that is used by the beneficiary and the beneficiary's family while the beneficiary is in school.

What happens if my child doesn't use the funds?

If your child (the designated beneficiary of the ESA) decides not to go to college or leaves school before all the funds are withdrawn, you can roll unused funds into the Coverdell ESA of another child in your family. The beneficiary of the Coverdell ESA who receives the unused funds must be under the age of 30 (except that the age 30 limit does not apply to a special needs beneficiary).

Who is considered a family member for the purposes of a rollover?

Family members of the designated beneficiary who are eligible to receive unused funds include (but are not limited to) spouses, siblings, step-siblings, nieces, nephews, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, children and grandchildren. Of course, some of these categories will be eliminated immediately, since the new designated beneficiary must be under the age of 30 at the time of the rollover (except that the age 30 limit does not apply to a special needs beneficiary).

What if my child earns an academic scholarship and the tuition is waived?

The amount of scholarship money your child receives is deducted from the allowable expenses for the Coverdell ESA. For example, if qualified expenses total $6,000 and your child receives a scholarship for $3,000, you can make a qualified withdrawal of $3,000 from the Coverdell ESA. Remember that unused funds can always be rolled over into the Coverdell ESA of a family member.

Can I roll funds from a traditional or Roth IRA into a Coverdell ESA?

No, rollovers from a traditional or Roth IRA into a Coverdell ESA are not allowed.

How does the Coverdell ESA affect other education savings incentives?

Contributions can be made on behalf of the same child to both a Coverdell ESA and a qualified tuition (section 529) plan. A person can also receive tax-free distributions from a Coverdell ESA in the same year he or she claims the Lifetime Learning or HOPE Scholarship tax credits, but the same expenses cannot be used for more than one of these tax benefits.

If I contribute to a Coverdell ESA, can I still contribute to a traditional or Roth IRA?

Contributions to traditional or Roth IRAs have no effect on the contributions you can make to each Coverdell ESA.

Don't traditional and Roth IRAs allow me to withdraw funds for education expenses?

Traditional and Roth IRAs do offer penalty-free withdrawals for qualified higher-education expenses, but you may still need to pay taxes on those withdrawals. In contrast, withdrawals from a Coverdell ESA are both tax-free and penalty-free if used for qualified education expenses.

How do I purchase US Savings Bonds?

You can buy electronic savings bonds at Opening a TreasuryDirect account is free, and, once it's established, you can:

  • Buy, manage, and redeem Series EE and I electronic savings bonds
  • Convert Series EE and I paper savings bonds to electronic through the SmartExchange feature
  • Purchase electronic savings bonds as a gift
  • Enroll in a payroll savings plan for purchasing electronic bonds
  • Invest in other Treasury securities such as bills, notes, bonds, and TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities)

Check Cards

Are there fees for an Allegiance CU Check Card?

There is no fee to have the card, and no transaction fee when you use it at an Allegiance CU-owned ATM or participating ATM Zone credit union such as Weokie Credit Union, Tinker Federal Credit Union, FAA Federal Credit Union, Communications Federal Credit Union, Municipal Employees Credit Union, Oklahoma Employees Credit Union, Oklahoma Federal Credit Union, Oklahoma City Thrifty Federal Credit Union or any 7-11 Convenience Store. There may be an additional fee charged to you by the other owners of ATMs. Allegiance Credit Union also charges a $1 out of network fee.

When do ATM transactions or deposits post?

ATM transactions immediately affect accounts. Deposits are available after they are put in the account, ATM transactions show up immediately and POS transactions immediately place a hold on the account until they clear (usually 1 or 2 days).

How often is the ATM system updated, and how accurate is the balance on an ATM?

We are online with the TransFund ATM network. ATM transactions immediately affect accounts. Deposits are available after they are put in the account, ATM transactions show up immediately and POS transactions immediately place a hold on the account until they clear (usually 1 or 2 days).

What do I do if my wallet or purse has been stolen?

If your TransFund ATM or check card has been lost or stolen please call Allegiance as soon as possible, or you can call 1-800-791-2525 after business hours or on weekends. If your VISA credit card has been lost or stolen please call 1-800-558-3424. This call is free of charge 24 hours a day.

Yes, you should receive your new card about the third week of the month it expires. Your current card is good until the last day of the month that it expires.

How do I stop unauthorized charges on my Visa?

You are required to make every effort to stop the billing with the merchant in question. After you make an effort to resolve the dispute with the merchant, you may send a letter of dispute to the following address (provided on your billing statement):

It is a way to shop online with confidence. It helps prevent unauthorized card usage. The only one using your Visa® card should be you.

How do I activate my card for this service?

The added protection of Verified by Visa® is available as soon as you complete the online registration process. You may begin purchasing at participating stores.

How do I shop with Verified by Visa®?

If I am having financial difficulties with loans or credit cards, where can I get help?

There are several options but the most important is to contact the collections department as soon as possible. They can help you come up with solutions sooner, rather than later when difficulties become extreme problems.

If I make loan payments by payroll deduction what happens to the deduction when the loan is paid?

The funds will go to your savings.

How long do I need to be a member of the Credit Union before I can apply for a loan?

There is no waiting period to make a loan after you become a member. You can join the Credit Union and take out a loan the same day (if you qualify). Apply online.

How long will I wait to see if my consumer loan application is approved?

You should know the same day or possibly the next day dependent upon when we receive the application. If you apply through the Internet or through our 24 hour lending center over the weekend, you will possibly have to wait for a response until the first working day.

What information should I bring with me to apply for a loan?

You should bring information on the collateral, if applicable, and income verification.

How long can you finance?

It is dependent upon the amount financed and the collateral. On auto loans we can go up to 72 months on a vehicle valued at $20,000 or more.

How much can I borrow?

Credit and income are the major factors in how much you can borrow. Another factor is collateral.

What are the qualifications to borrow money from the Credit Union?

We look at everything — your credit, work history, income, collateral, etc.

How come the interest paid on my loan varies from one month to the next instead decreasing as the payments are made?

Interest accrues daily on a simple Allegiance Credit Union interest loan. It is based on your daily balance and the amount of days between payments. So 30 days between each payment will accrue 30 days in interest.

How long will it take to be pre-approved?

In most cases pre-approval will be available in 24 hours.


What do I do if I had damage to my home and received a check from my insurance company?

Bring your insurance check, insurance claim, final invoice or estimate and this form to the credit union.

How long does the process take to purchase a home?

You can get an amortization schedule by using our online calculator. However, results are not guaranteed. Please call the mortgage department to obtain an official amortization schedule.

Can I have my mortgage payment directly taken out of my account?

Mortgage payments can be automatically debited from your checking or savings account. In order to use this service you must call the mortgage department.

Online Banking & Bill Pay

How do I use Allegiance Online Banking?

  1. Type in your User ID, which is your account number.
  2. Click “Log In”
  3. Answer your Challenge Question.
  4. Enter your password after you verify your Passphrase and your Image.
  5. The screen that appears will show you your accounts at a glance. The summary includes a list of your accounts, current balance and available balance.
  6. By clicking on the horizontal tabs you can Transfer Funds, utilize Bill Payer, use Account Services, view and change your Preferences and view eDocuments.
  7. A quick transfer between accounts can be made using the Quick Transfer box at the right of your screen.
  8. The Design Your Site box is located near the bottom of your screen. This feature allows you to have news, weather and stocks displayed on your screen.
  9. The Resources box is located next to the Design Your Site box near the bottom of your screen. This feature gives you access to apply for a loan, shop online for cars, find credit union service centers, manage your VISA card, order checks and check your Promise Points.
  10. The Cell Phone Setup box is located next to the Design Your Site box near the bottom of your screen. This is valuable information about accessing your accounts using your cell phone.

I cannot log in because it says that the system is currently unavailable. What do I do?

If you are trying to connect at 7am on the weekdays, you will not be able to log on because the information systems department takes the system down daily at this time for processing. Please wait 15 to 30 minutes and try again.

However, if it happens any other time of the day there are several things you can do to make sure that the connection problem is not on your end.

  1. Try exiting your browser, pulling the site up again and pressing reload.
  2. If that still does not work, delete your temporary Internet folders (cache) and restart your browser. To delete your temporary Internet folders in Internet explorer go to "tools" and then "internet options" and finally "delete temporary Internet files." If you are in Netscape go to "Edit" then to "preference" and then "advanced" and finally "cache." Then clear all cache.
  3. Try changing your security settings. Go to the "Tools" menu, and then choose "Internet Options". Next, click on the "Security" tab. Next, choose the "Trusted Sites" icon. Using the "sites" button to the right, add to the trusted sites zone. Hit the OK button to close that box, and OK one more time to close the security settings.
  4. If you still get the error message, go back to the "Trusted Sites" icon, and choose the "Custom Level" button. In the next box, scroll down until you come to the "Scripting" area, and make sure that "Active Scripting" is enabled for this zone.
  5. If you still cannot connect to Allegiance Online, check to see what cipher strength you are using. To do this, go to "Help" and then "About Internet Explorer." A menu will pop up and will tell you what your Cipher Strength is. It is best to have 128-bit cipher strength to connect to Allegiance Online. If you do not have this much, notice there is a link to the side that asks you if you want to update. You can go directly to Internet Explorer's download page by clicking that link. Or you can download it now.

If you still cannot connect to Allegiance Online, do not hesitate to contact us. It is probably a problem on our end, or a problem within your browser that we are not aware of. We will be glad to help you.

When I enter my member number and password I get a message that says "Incorrect log-in: user ID or password is invalid". Why is that?

Your account was locked out due to improper PIN entry. You get three bad pin tries before you are locked out of your account. This feature is set up to prevent strangers from trying to randomly guess your password and succeed in getting into your personal account information. However, it can also be a pain if you make a mistake. To gain entry to this password you can download and print this form and it will prompt you for all the information we need to give you access to your account again, and is a more secure way for you to give us your account information rather than through email.

Or, you can go to the Allegiance Online page, sign in with your User Id and on the next page where you need to enter your password, click "Forgot Password" (located below password box). After you answer the questions correctly, you will be able to select a new password. If the questions are not answered exactly to what we have on file, you will not be able to change your password online.

How safe is it to view my account through Online banking?

When processing transactions or viewing account information through Homebanking, the exchange of information is secured in several ways. Before you process a single transaction, your browser and our server establish a secure communications channel.

First, our server sends our security certificate to your browser so it can verify that you are actually connected to Allegiance Credit Union, and not an "imposter."

Then your browser and our server each generate keys, which are used to scramble and unscramble the information being sent between the two. This scrambling (called encryption) uses a special algorithm to hide the meaning of information that is passed between your browser and us to make it nearly impossible for anyone else to decode your personal account information.

Why is your website saving my password? I thought this was a secure connection.

If your password is being saved, the issue is with your browser. Allegiance Credit Union does not ever store your password on our web site. This can especially be a problem if other people have access to your computer but is easily remedied. To solve this problem in Internet Explorer go to the "Tools" menu, then choose "Internet Options". Next choose the "Content" tab. Next click the "Auto Complete" button, and make sure that the "User Names and Passwords on forms" selection is not checked. Before you save this, click the "Clear Passwords" button. For increased security, you can also clear the "Forms" checkboxes, and also click the "Clear Forms" button.

When I click on the logoff button in online banking I get a warning.

Many times older browser versions will give you errors unnecessarily. There is not a problem with your account information security when you get this warning. Your browser is just unnecessarily warning you that you will no longer be on a secure Internet server after logging off. However, since you will not be viewing your sensitive account information after logging off it does not matter. You may want to upgrade to a newer browser to prevent getting errors like this in the future

How do I know my personal information is safe?

We have taken several steps to guarantee safety of your information during Internet transactions. When you connect to our home banking site, you need a browser that complies to the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) specification. This is an accepted standard for digital encryption.

Most popular web browsers, especially Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer are capable of conducting a secure session with an SSL enabled web server.

The next line of defense is your PIN. The Allegiance Credit Union user authentication system consists of a user account number that is validated against a password. For additional security, these passwords are stored on the transaction host which communicates only a valid or invalid condition back to the Remote Banking Server. After a predetermined number of unsuccessful attempts, usually three, the transaction host will turn on a flag and lock out the account until a Financial Institution service representative has un-flagged the record, which will occur only after the member has called in.

Can I use Microsoft Money or Quicken with online banking?

We currently support Quicken direct downloads from Allegiance Online.

What is BillPayer?

BillPayer is the Credit Union's online service that allows members to pay their bills over the Internet. With this service you will not have to write checks or lick stamps any more!

How do I enroll in BillPayer?

You must enroll in Allegiance Online Banking before you can use BillPayer. Enroll in Allegiance Online now.

If you are already using Allegiance Online Banking all you have to do is log on and in the top menu you will find an option called "Enroll BillPayer," and then follow the instructions.

How much is it to use BillPayer?

Free, but some restrictions may apply.

Who can be paid with BillPayer?

Almost anyone! Over 75,000 companies are listed within the program, and custom payees can be added. There are, however, some payments, such as tax payments, court-ordered payments and payments to payees outside the U.S. that cannot be made. Our program guides you through the process of setting up merchants/payees.

Can I add an authorized user to my BillPayer service?

Any person that you allow access to Allegiance Online will also have access to your BillPayer service. Remember that giving someone else access to Allegiance Online gives them full control of your funds and thus anyone that you give access to Allegiance Online should be a joint owner on your account.

How long does it take for a payment to reach a merchant/payee?

When initially setting up a payment, allow at least 10 business days for the payment to reach the merchant/payee. Thereafter, allow at least five business days.

What do I do with the invoice or payment coupon I normally send with my check?

You do not need to send the coupon to your merchant. As long as you include your account number when paying through BillPayer, your merchant will credit that account.

Do my merchants/payees need to know that I will now pay them through BillPayer?

No, it is not necessary to notify your merchants/payees that you will be submitting your payments through BillPayer.

How is the payment sent to my merchant/payee?

If a merchant will accept electronic payments, your bills will be paid electronically. Merchants/payees who cannot accept payments electronically will receive a check through the mail.

Can I set up BillPayer to send recurring payments?

Yes, by completing the recurring payments section, the same amount will automatically be sent every month until you edit or delete the payment. If you have a recurring payment but the amount changes each month, you can establish a recurring payment as indicated, but each month you would change the amount manually. Another option would be to establish a one-time payment each month.

How does the payment post to my account and appear on my statement?

Payments are deducted from your checking account shortly after they are processed. They will appear on your statement as payments to the merchant/payee.

Mobile Banking with Mobile Deposit

What is mobile banking?

Mobile banking and payments application is how you can access your account information quickly and easily from your IPhone or Android. Use Mobile banking to: check your account balances, review recent account activity, transfer money between accounts, pay bills, and change & cancel pending payments.

Is there a fee to use Allegiance CU's Mobile Banking?

No. Allegiance Credit Union's Mobile Banking is free of charge.

Which mobile devices have apps available for Mobile Banking?

Apple and Android devices.

Is Mobile Banking secure?

To ensure the safety and privacy of your account information, Allegiance has incorporated multiple security features in Mobile Banking: all transactions are encrypted, you must authenticate every interaction with Mobile Banking and no personal or financial information is stored on your phone.

I get an error message "Your device was not recognized. Please call 405-789-7900 for more details." What should I do?

This is a phone registration problem. Log into homebanking from a computer, click on Mobiliti and clear out the device registration. To do this click Access Accounts, then Mobiliti. Find your phone in the list, change the dropdown to "stop using this phone" and try to use the app on your phone again.

Do you have any helpful tips when using Mobile Check Deposit?

  • Before logging into the Mobile Deposit app, close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone or iPad.
  • All endorsement information must be limited to within the top 1" of the check. Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
  • Keep the check within the view finder on the camera screen when capturing your photos. Try not to include too much surface area surrounding the check.
  • Take the photos of your check in a well-lit area.
  • Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit.
  • No shadows across the check and the check should not be blurry.
  • All four corners must be visible.
  • The numbers on the bottom of your check must be readable.

Are there any check holds?

All checks deposited via Mobile Check Deposit are subject to a check hold. Whenever possible, ACU will limit check holds as outlined in your Membership Agreement.

Will there be additional delays?

ACU reserves the right to delay your ability to withdraw funds deposited by check into your account for an additional number of days. Possible reasons for longer delay of funds availability are:

  • We believe a check you deposit will not be paid.
  • You deposit checks totaling more than your approved daily limit.
  • You deposit a check that has been returned unpaid.
  • You have overdrawn your account repeatedly.
  • There is any emergency, such as failure of communications or computer equipment.

How do I set up text alerts?

First you must authorize your phone number to receive text alerts:

  • Log into online banking.
  • Hover over Access Accounts.
  • Click Mobiliti.
  • Look for your phone number (not just the nickname of your device but actual digits of the phone number).
  • If phone number is not listed then click add device and register the number.
  • If phone number is listed or once you register it then click drop down box and choose "Change my Mobile Banking Services" and hit go.
  • Select which options you would like, but make sure "Text Messaging" and "Alerts" are checked and click continue.
  • You will be sent an activation code on your cell that you need to enter to register the phone for texts.

Next, configure the types of alerts you would like to receive:

  • Scroll back up to top of screen and hover over Access Accounts.
  • Click e-mail Notification.
  • Click the bullet beside "e-Lerts Options" and click continue.
  • Click Add E-Lert notification
  • Choose which alert you want and hit continue and then it will allow you to customize your alert

What is Popmoney?

Popmoney is person-to-person payment service accessible through BillPayer. Popmoney users pay you directly with email or text. No bank information is necessary. To use Popmoney members must be enrolled in BillPayer.

How do I access Popmoney?

  • Sign into Allegiance Online
  • Select Bill Payment
  • Select Pay Bills
  • Select Popmoney
  • To send money, you just need the person's name and email address or cell phone number (there is a 50¢ fee for each initiated transfer)
  • To get money, you must "claim" your money using the Transaction Code received in an email or text

What are the additional options?

  • Directly deposit the money into the recipient's account if you already have their account information, but the account information is not necessary. The recipient will then receive notification of the deposit.
  • Send money with an e-Greeting at no cost! Choose from several styles.
  • Send a gift card instead of cash. Choose between 250 national retailers, specify the amount, and the card will be mailed to the receiver's physical address.
  • Set up a scheduled payment up to one year in the future.
  • Set up recurring payments.

Could there be a phone carrier issue?

Some phone carriers do not send the notification messages thru depending on what kind of service the recipient has on their mobile phone and whether they have allowed notifications texts or not. If this happens, the recipient needs to go online to and enter their cell# in the box. Their payment should come up showing the amount and the person who sent the money. All they have to do after that is enter where they want the funds deposited (Name of Bank, Routing # & Acct#) and the funds should be there the next business day. They can call customer service at (877) 675-6378 if they have any questions.

Overdraft Protection

How does it work?

If debits (checks, ACH, ATM or check card transactions) are presented against insufficient funds, we may elect to cover the overdrafts up to the Overdraft limit of $750. The Overdraft limit on Fresh Start Checking is $300. As long as the account remains in good standing and has been opened more than 30 days, the member makes regular deposits into their account, brings the account to positive balance as soon as possible with 30 calendar days, and maintains a positive balance for one processing day, they will continue to receive Overdraft Privilege.

How much does it cost?

There is no fee for having Overdraft Privilege unless you use it. A $27.50 fee is charged for each item paid.

Direct Deposit & Payroll Deduction

How do I set up payroll deduction/direct deposit?

If you are a federal employee you can have your direct deposit set up by going to If you are not a federal employee, you need to contact your payroll or human resources department. The human resources department will usually need your account number and our routing number: 303085230. Some employers have the ability to set up direct deposit online. Check with your payroll or human resources department.

How do I set a Social Security direct deposit?

Recipients who are already receiving Social Security and or Supplemental Security Income benefits through direct deposit may change their account or bank information by calling 1 (800) SSA-1213 (1-800-772-1213).

Representatives are available between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you have a touch-tone phone, recorded information and services are available 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may call SSA toll-free TTY number, 1 (800) 325-0778, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Please have your Social Security number available when you call.

OR the Social Security Administration provides a secure Web environment where you may change your direct deposit information. Through their site, you may change your current direct deposit to another account or financial institution. To utilize this service, you must establish a password at the Social Security site.

How do I print my 1099 Interest Form?

If your total interest is less than $10.00, you will not receive a form. If you have Allegiance Online, e-Statements and your total interest was more than $10.00, you will receive your 1099 online, otherwise your 1099 will be mailed to you.
